Tired of the store bought croutons then try fresh baked croutons to spice up your salads. Very easy to make and you can use a variety of seasonings.

Brush bread slices lightly with melted butter or margarine. Cut to desired size cubes. Sprinkle with garlic, crushed dried herbs, onion power, or any type of seasoning you would like. For cheese croutons, just sprinkle parmesan while hot, cool then serve on salads. For a bacon flavor use bacon grease instead of butter.

Spread bread cubes in a shallow baking pan and bake at 300 degrees till dry, approximately 25 minutes, stirring once.
